A historical view of Legoland park, Florida.

LEGOLAND, Florida, opened its doors on October 15, 2011. The old Cypress Garden theme park site has been transformed into LEGOLAND park Florida.

Cypress Gardens debuted in 1936 as Florida’s first professional tourist theme park. It is known for its botanical gardens, ski events, and Southern Belles. It was eventually dubbed the “Water Ski World’s Capital of Water Skiing after breaking multiple world records. The botanical gardens were restored, the water park was re-themed, and attractions and locations were chosen to showcase various LEGO brands.

With the inauguration of the Legoland Hotel in May 2015, it was renamed LEGOLAND Florida Resort. It is the foremost Legoland park in the United Kingdom, behind Legoland Windsor.

For whom is Legoland designed?

Legoland Park Florida targets families who have children as little as two and as old as twelve. A trip to LEGOLAND, Florida, without even a child, maybe a waste of time unless you’re a die-hard Lego lover. And, if you’re a Lego enthusiast, plenty keeps you entertained. It’s just not going to be the rides. Instead, you’ll find a stunning collection of existing sculptures fashioned entirely of Lego. Then there are entire landscapes, such as cities, made entirely of Lego.

The majority of the attractions and other attractions are geared toward smaller children. LEGOLAND is an amusement park designed specifically for pre-teens.

After seeing the park, I believe it is a little early for children above the age of 10. This is because they get a sample of white knuckles roller coasters at other theme parks around this time. I can also confidently tell you that the swimming pool is intended for younger children, probably those under the age of ten.

When Should You Visit LEGOLAND Florida?

There is no “ideal time” because this amusement park is overall. It also celebrates all holidays, as do all theme parks. That being said, I would like to remind out that the hot Florida weather can be unpleasant. Add to it the fact that summertime is when all of the children are away from school, and the park gets crowded. If you can avoid weekends, this is usually the best time to go. Weekends have often crowded both tourists and locals.

Education and learning are vital aspects of Legoland.

Here are several examples:

Water flow channels where participants can build dams out of Lego blocks to learn about turbulent and laminar fluid movements

Musical fountains and the aquatune hydro hydraulophone, an underwater pipe organ shaped like a big Lego brick, are examples of interactive musical instruments.

A 1.5-hour Lego Mindstorms class focused on having fun while learning.

Duplo Parks (for smaller children)

Driving zone (including attractions such as boating school, driving school,  Ballooning school, Flying school, and Fire Academy)

My City

The Wild Woods

Kingdom of the Knights

The rides in the parks are all Lego themed, with several appearing to be constructed out of Lego bricks. They are typically based on a single Lego line: for example, The Dragons Coaster, which is partially based on the Knight’ Kingdom Lego sets, is a favorite thrill at all six parks. Another popular attraction is the Drive School, in which youngsters can drive little electric cars resembling Lego vehicles around with a compact road network before receiving a simulated driver’s licence.

Despite the similarities of the aforementioned attractions, the actual lineup of rides differs between parks, however there is some overlap, as with Disney parks.
